Today Langley High School Senior Class President Chris Clark announced his support for Thomas Liu for Student Advisory Council and joined the Thomas Liu 4 SAC leadership team as the Class of 2016 Coordinator.
Said Clark, "He has the leadership capabilities to become the next SAC rep."
Chris Clark is the Class President for the Senior class, and he leads the sen16r class and our school in multiple events.
Said Liu, "Chris is an example to follow, and I hope I can learn from his leadership, so I can serve Langley in the SAC next year just like how he serves the senior class. With Chris as our Cladd of 2016 Coordinator, we hope that he can rally the seniors to support our campaign and #Liu4LHS.
I, Huan-Cheng (Thomas) Liu, believe that I am qualified because I have been engaged with multiple Langley activities for the past two years. From clubs like MUN, EARSA, Young Dems, Young Reps, SASA, CSA, Chess, Cubicle, and FBLA to the sport of rowing that I participate in. I am currently in leadership positions in some of the clubs, which gives me the opportunity to learn more on organizing events and representing my clubs. I hope I can expand what I currently do, and represent Langley in the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. I am also picked by the mentor board to become a junior mentor next year, as a mentor I will be engaged with the freshman class, which gives me a better perspective when I am representing Langley in SAC meetings. Two goals that I want to accomplish once I am elected to the SAC is to publish monthly updates on my website (www.thomashcliu.com) to inform my fellow Saxons on what the SAC have accomplish in the meetings. I will also try to meet all of the candidates running for the FCPS Student Representative before I cast my vote. My vote will be decided by my fellow Saxons, I will open up an online voting system, and my vote will be cast to whoever wins the online ballot to represent the voice of Langley. The second goal that I will like to accomplish if elected is to make sure that I am approachable to everyone in the school, people can comment on my website, message me on social media through my Facebook, Twitter pages, or find me in person, so I can voice what the Langley students want during the SAC meetings. Another reason that I believed I am qualified for the position is because I am a rising junior, this allows he for reelection next year, this way I can represent Langley for more than one year in the body, I can be a junior member of the Langley delegation during my junior year, and I can assist the newly elected members during my senior year as a senior member of the Langley SAC delegation. This way, Langley’s voice in the SAC will never be stopped, and the students of Langley can be insured that their voices are heard in the Student Advisory Council.
"Thomas rocks, he's dedicated and knows what he's doing."
